I received an injury settlement check for a covered XXXX XXXX compensation Injury. It was for a large amount {$64000.00}. Theres were certified funds deposited on XX/XX/XXXX and cleared for use on XX/XX/XXXX. On Saturday XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email from Chase threatening to close my account because the check could not be verified using their software because My lawyer who wrote the check had a different phone number than the one listed in their verification software, so I reached out to my lawyer and he was able to provide a secondary phone number. At which time I reached back out to Chase again on XX/XX/XXXX and was put on hold while the verification team reached out to my lawyer and spoke to Chase and he gave them all of the info they needed to verify the check. I was told my account would be unlocked within the hour and my funds would be released and simply needed supervisor approval. On Sunday XX/XX/XXXX I attempted to use my debit card and it was declined and my account was still restricted, I called Chase again and was told that the approval team had a different address now associated with the business, I dont know what to tell them because my lawyers business address is the same address on the check and is his legal address. I need my money, Chase held my check for 10 days clearing it as a valid certified injury settlement check and then several days later put my money on hold and are keeping me from using it. I dont understand how this is legal or warranted, the check cleared, they spoke to my lawyer who wrote me the check which came from a state mandated XXXX XXXX account in charge of making sure all funds are good. This is out of my control. Both my lawyer and I quickly provided the information chase said was necessary.
