Consumer Narrative
I have a joint spousal consolidation loan. A law was passed two years ago allowing separation of these loans. The application to do so is not yet available. However we are allowed to place these loans in an administrative forbearance until the application to do so is made available. The XXXX is for one year and is supposed to automatically renew per Department of Education guidelines. My XXXX recently expired and Mohela will not renew it as they are required to do. They say they have to receive instructions from Federal Student Aid to do so but that is not the case.
