I notified Sams Club World elite Mastercard, issued by Synchrony bank, regarding a series of unrecognized XXXX XXXX charges on my credit card. The unrecognized charges occurred over multiple months and appeared to increase in debit amounts over time. Synchrony bank stated they would initiate an investigation and then reissued a new card. I was temporarily credited the disputed amount. Later I received a written letter stating that I would not be held responsible for the amount of the fraudulent charges which totaled almost {$1000.00}. After I received this letter, the new credit card statement depicted a generic transfer debit from the old account to the new one, for almost the same amount that was originally disputed. In addition there were multiple generically labeled transfers of duplicate fees that resembled the original fraudulent charges. When I called Synchrony Bank, their dispute department did not provide a satisfactory answer. The debit transfer amount from the old account to the new account appeared excessively high, considering I did not even have a new card to use during the transition period when a new card was being issued. The matter is still unclear and unresolved. The phone rep also said she did not understand fully where the charge on my new account originated.
