Consumer Narrative

I am writing to formally complain about 2 lawsuits filed against me by Chase Bank over unpaid credit card debt. Despite my numerous attempts to address this debt, Chase Bank has made no effort to work with me to find a resolution at any time. Due to the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, I experienced a significant loss of income which has severely impacted my ability to meet my financial obligations. This was communicated to Chase on multiple occasions. At every turn after a series of questions when assessing assistance I was eligible for they concluded " no assistance can be offered ''. I was once offered a settlement of 50 % of the balances only after the cards were cancelled by Chase, however Chase wanted one lumpsum payment immediately, and when I called back days later they said that offer was no longer on the table. Additionally, I have faced my own long Covid illness, further complicating my financial situation, so a lump sum payment is no use with medical debt. As a XXXX employee, I continued to work tirelessly to ensure public safety during the darkest days of the pandemic. The emotional and physical toll of these challenging times has been immense, and the added stress of these lawsuits are deeply concerning. As a XXXX employee I should not bear the brunt of the financial impact brought about by the pandemic. The setbacks I faced while being on the front lines, including working with Covid testing kits, should not be a reason to be sued. I prioritized the health and safety of the nation above my own, we were once called heroes, it certainly does not feel like how a hero is treated. Despite reaching out to Chase Bank on multiple occasions in attempts to reach a mutually beneficial resolution, I have received no cooperation. Instead, they have chosen to pursue legal action, which I believe unjust under the unprecedented circumstances. I kindly request your assistance in addressing this grave matter. I am seeking the dismissal of the 2 lawsuits filed by Chase Bank and an opportunity to resolve this debt through alternative means that take into account the hardships I have faced due to the pandemic and my ongoing health challenges. Specifically I am seeking the dismissal of the 2 lawsuits and Chase working with me on a reduced agreeable amount commensurate with not only my health issues but my commitment to the public health and safety of this nation. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated, and I am hopeful for a favorable resolution.
