Consumer Narrative

Got a gift card a few years ago ( XXXX or XXXX ), and haven't been able to 'activate ' or use since the numbers of the card and the numbers at the back apparently don't match. Tried filing a report online TWICE, and no, I'm not going to send a copy of my SSN, but the photos of the front and back of the card was sent along with my driver 's license. I got no reply. Tried calling the number on the back - after several tries of being on hold for an average of an hour, when I do finally get someone, the line cuts off, and they don't bother calling back, which makes me think this is a way for them to scam people.
