I saw that an unauthorized credit card account had been opened with Citibank/Citicard , using an address where I've never lived. I have been able to file a dispute with XXXX regarding the fraudulently opened credit card, but they tell me they can not remove the incorrect address ( where I've never lived ) until Citibank tells them to, since it was Citibank which provided this information. I called Citibank and asked them to remove the address from my credit report since I've never lived there, and it was due to their negligence that the address is there in my report ; they said that I needed to mail or fax a letter to them containing basically all of my personal information ( e.g. correct address, date of birth, Social Security number, phone number etc ), but I am NOT comfortable sending that information out. They need to remove the information at once, before it is used again to commit fraud. I have attached a copy of the report I made at identitytheft.gov.
