I have a Dicks Sporting Goods XXXX ( through XXXX Bank ). The last XXXX years i have been on XXXX waiting on a XXXX transplant. The first XXXX years and prior to my illness all payments were made as you can verify as i was able to work XXXX. The last XXXX years i was only able to work part time. I fell behind and was unable to make minimum payments, but was still paying as i could. Around XXXX of XXXX Dicks locked me out of my account so i was unable to make payments or get copies of my submittals to them regarding my hardship. I spoke to several agents who called all day and night to collect money and explained my situation to them. I was told they had no program available and the minimum payment owed per month must be paid, which i could no afford. I was then sued in XXXX of XXXX. The hearing was today in which a judgement was filed against me. Which i plan to appeal. I feel my right were violated. How can we allow a bank to not have some type of hardship program. I have done this with other credit cards during my health issues. They freeze the card and take a payment until paid up to date then reactivate the card. No credit hit. No lawyers and extra fees. But this is what we allow them to do I guess. It just doesnt make sense. In addition refusal of allowing me to provide my online submittals asking for hardship help prohibited me from defending myself in court
