I was the victim of identity theft by a former tenant in my home, XXXX XXXX XXXX. The account with CITIBANK BEST BUY VISA CARD was opened fraudulently without my permission or knowledge. XXXX used my identity and had the initial card mailed to my home, which he retrieved without my knowledge, used the account, and made payments for a time without my consent or knowledge. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact Citi and reps argued with me that account was sold. I need to be absolved from responsibility with CITI. I have completed ( attached ) an ID Theft Affidavit with the FTC. I have also included copies of my government-issued ID and a recent utility bill for address and identity authentication.
