My XX/XX/XXXX Statement shows a New Balance of {$1500.00}, with no My Chase Plans, payment due XX/XX/XXXX. Because I could not meet paying this amount, XXXX items were moved to My Chase Plans on XX/XX/XXXX, and XXXX more moved XX/XX/XXXX. Totaling {$780.00}. Payments/Credits total {$770.00}. These two amounts added together ( {$1500.00} ) meets the XXXX Balance whether paid or placed onto a My Chase Plan. So why was I charged Interest on Purchases of {$20.00}? Purchases subject to interest charges was {$1000.00}. Creating a My Chase Plan is supposed to avoid interest and instead pay a monthly agreed upon fee and divided payments. A representative attempted to say that the interest was because the plans weren't created in enough time. XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX, is long before the closing date of the XX/XX/XXXX due date. Your website states XXXX business days to take effect. I requested to be reimbursed for this inaccurate interest. The Frequently Asked Questions section on your app regarding My Chase Plans that support my conclusion include - Can I avoid interest charges on other purchases while I have a Chase Pay Over Time After purchase? Pay the Interest saving balance option ( which includes the monthly amount for Chase Pay Over Time After purchase ) every month by your due date to avoid interest charges on new purchases. When you choose the interest saving balance option, you wont pay off your entire payment plan balance earlier than intended, and youll still avoid interest on new purchases. How long will it take for my account balances to reflect a Chase Pay Over Time After purchase plan? Your account balances will update within 1-2 business days. The same thing happened with the next Statement XX/XX/XXXX. The Interest Saving Balance due by XX/XX/XXXX was {$1700.00}. Payments and Credits from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX total {$1700.00}. Yet, I was charged {$25.00} in interest. Purchases subject to interest charges was {$1100.00}. I was on the phone with a Chase Representative XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX minutes who argued and spoke over me and could never explain the charges, was then transferred to an Account Manager who also had no interest in hearing what I had to say, listened because this is what she was paid to do. I insisted the interest was not correct, she told me she would submit a review and I would receive and explanation. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a response that was not the issue. Both representatives knew my issue was being charged Interest, not the interest rate. The response I received from Chase was : We confirmed that your current APR 's are the lowest rates at this time. Dear XXXX XXXX Thank you for asking us to review the annual percentage rates ( APRs ) on your account. After our review, we confirmed that your current APRs are at the lowest rates available at this time. For further information about your account, please visit www.chase.com/marriott. Sincerely, Card Services I have 2 Chase Accounts, one through XXXX XXXX XXXX, and one through Marriott Boundless Visa. They BOTH offer My Chase Plans. I NEVER have had an issue with Chase XXXX, ONLY Chase Marriott. These people at Marriott Boundless Chase should be trained by those that handle XXXX Premier Chase considering they both represent Chase. They have no concern over what a customer is being charged, and treat it as a customer is obligated to pay whatever it is, and they don't think customers will reach out to the next level of Consumer Finance for what I asked for initially. I'm really sorry for those who get taken advantage of and don't know where turn after their concern is overlooked and denied by Chase representatives. It's a shame. Though I love staying in Marriott XXXX, and being rewarded points for stays, I have no confidence that Marriott Boundless Chase Mastercard representatives have a clue what they're doing. I have past statements that I will review further for error.
