As detailed in CFPB complaint ID # XXXX, on XX/XX/year> I spoke to Synchrony Bank/Trust XXXX XXXX XXXX and when asked the verification question " What was the model of your first car? '' I responded with both the make and model ( accurately ), but was told that response did not match the system so I would be required to complete a multi-step verification process ( even after responding with the correct model name only ). During the multi-step verification process I provided personal information before deciding to abort the process due to multiple technical failures ( see CFPB complaint ID # XXXX ). DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS PERSONAL DATA APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN GATHERED UNDER FALSE PRETENSE ( given the correct response to the original ID verification question ), on XX/XX/year> I spoke to Synchrony supervisor XXXX to request that any personal data that was collected before the multi-step verification was aborted be deleted from whatever system it may still reside on ( to prevent its potentially being hacked for malicious use ). XXXX responded that she did not know if any of the data was retained or in what system it may reside, and she would need to investigate and get back to me. HAVING RECEIVED NO RESPONSE after over a month, on XX/XX/year> I attempted to speak to XXXX but was told she was unavailable, so I left a message for her that I would be filing a complaint with CFPB in my attempt to resolve the issue.
