I recently lost my job and have had to accept a part-time job to pay my bills... this isthe only source of income I have been able to obtain. My company has promised full-time status and pay AFTER I have completed my part-time trial period. I have also applied for several other very promising jobs ( in my field of XXXX years ) where they have expressed interest in me, but I am still waiting for further communication from them. I suspect a big part of the difficulty is my age ( XXXX yo ). I have called Synchrony-Amazon to explain this, but the offsite, " customer support '' call-center people have ZERO training and ZERO ability to do anything other than take payments and bully you to make payments you can't afford even AFTER explaining the situation to them. Here are my issues : 1 : It has been impossible to find a customer service number for Synchrony-Amazon where you can talk to a company-based person who can actually help with this issue. 2 : The monthly payments for Amazon are almost XXXX % of the balance and keep accruing. 3 : The Amazon credit website offers the option to sign up for temporary lower payment or payment deferment options... HOWEVER, when you complete the process it just says " request could not be processed '' without any explanation or comment! 4 : Despite calling and explaining to the call-service my circumstances ( and that they are TEMPORARY ), they continue to hound me and call me and email me about my overdue balance ( which is constantly accruing ) asking for payment! 5 : Even in the emails from Synchrony about my overdue balance the RE : line or title of the emails are : Let us help! We can work with you! BUT the links in the email send you straight to the call-service that immediately begins pressuring you to make the full payment of the overdue balance!!!!! 6 : Even though my issue is with my Amazon account, Synchrony has closed two other low balance store cards that they own ( which I have stayed current on ) and trashed my credit even further than it already was. It will take me a LONG time to recover my credit score from this -- up until now I at least had a CHANCE to regain my higher credit score. I called about the card cancellations and the person " explained '' that they had reviewed my debt-to-income ratio and decided that I had too much credit. I sincerely WANT to make my payments and honor my debts, however, I just need the understanding that my part-time EXTREMELY low salary is temporary ( it is barely enough for me to buy groceries and gas and to keep up with my car payments and car insurance -- I can't be without a car... or allow my payments to lapse because it is my lifeline at this point ).
