I walked in chase bank and opened a checking and savings account on XX/XX/year> I had a check in the amount of XXXX dollars from a settlement case I won due to a car accident I asked them to open a savings account and to deposit XXXX in that account and the rest into the checking everything went fine and they said they will be a 7-10 day hold on the funds because of the large amount I said ok thats fine on XX/XX/year> I receive a text message saying there was suspicious activity on my account and to call the XXXX number which I did the representative tell me that chase decided XXXX close my account I asked why she claimed she could give me a reason and that chase doesnt have the obligation to tell their customers the reason and that I signed that in the agreement when I opened the account she then asked me where the check was from I gave her all the information and explained it was from a settlement from a car crash law suit she then said ok so chase will close your accounts it will take up to 10 business days for the account to close then we will send you the money back that will also take up to 10 business days I asked why whats the reason and if I should go to the branch she said no and we can not tell you why now come XX/XX/XXXX I called to get an update on my money they told me they have to verify the contact number of the lawyers office I provided then every phone number my lawyer has contacted me in and they claim that the numbers arent verified and theres no alternative but to get a verified numbers so that chase can legally contact them I asked them if my lawyer can call them I can even put him on three way they claim thats. Or possible and the only way is to get the lawyer number to be verified which his number is clearly public record I dont know why chase is putting me thru this hard ache I have bills to pay and now my credit cards have late fees due to my funds being on hold
