I inadvertently over-paid XXXX of my XXXX Parent Plus loans with Mohela. I say inadvertent because the company never notified me about the fact that I was running into an overpayment situation which would end up leaving this loan with a credit balance. I placed several phone calls to the company about what could be done with this credit balance, and received a range of answers from ; " I'm not sure '' to " it might be handled like this ... ... a check issued by Dept. of Ed. -- -refund to the bank account you've been making payments from -- -the credit will be applied to another loan. '' Too many misleading answers to a simple question from customer service representatives who don't know what they're talking about ... ... ... .extremely frustrating! When I finally figured out a course of action, I made a formal request to the company to apply the credit balance to another outstanding loan on XX/XX/year> via fax. On XX/XX/year> they said the request would be put into motion and that the transaction would take XXXX to XXXX business days to process. Well, here it is XXXX business days later and the transaction still has not happened! Meanwhile my accounts continue to accrue interest. They should be paying me interest on the credit balance that they're not moving. In summary, Mohela 's customer service is severely inept! The Department of Education should find another loan servicer that can handle their business in a prompt and professional manner.
