Consumer Narrative

Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue I have been facing with Bank of America regarding several transactions from three years ago. On XX/XX/2021, i discovered that Bank of America deposited over {$10000.00} into my account, which I believed to be legitimate funds. Upon seeing the deposit around XXXX that XXXX, I usedthe funds to pay off debts and expenses, assuming it was reimbursement for non-sufficient fund ( NSF ) fees previously incurred. However, around XXXX the same day, I noticed that Bank of America retracted all of the deposited funds, leaving my account with a negative balance of roughly - {$15000.00}. The initial deposits consisted of multiple transactions labeled as returned NSF fees totaling {$35.00} for each of those deposits. I assumed that they were being reimbursed for the amount I had been over charge. However, Bank of America has since denied any knowledge of depositing such an amount into my account. Despite my attempts to clarify the situation, they have been uncooperative and even accusatory, suggesting that I purposely overcharged my account the {$15000.00}. I am deeply troubled by this situation, as I believed the funds were rightfully mine, and their refusal to acknowledge the deposits has put me in a difficult financial position. I have been unable to obtain any auto loans, personal loans, credit cards, or anything of that nature. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am hopeful for a swift resolution.
