I applied for a credit on XX/XX/XXXX while in the process of purchasing XXXX XXXX tickets. Citi bank advertises a statement credit if you apply for their credit card during the check out process. I followed the link provided and applied for the credit card, was approved instantly and clicked on the link to access a temporary card number to utilize for the purchase. The link was a broken link and after many attempts, I was still unable to access the promised temporary link. The next morning XX/XX/XXXX, I spent approximately an hour and half being passed around to different departments within Citi bank only to be promised by each one I would be receiving a link within XXXX of the application that would allow to access my card information. That email/link never came. I called again first thing in the morning on XX/XX/XXXX to advise I had not received the link. The representative I spoke with advised there was nothing they could to do help me or resend said link. I requested to speak with a supervisor. I explained the situation and the information I had been provided the day before, only to be told that no such email or link is ever sent and he was unsure why I would have been given that information. He also then advised me that because I had done my application on a mobile device that that was the reason I could not access the link upon my application completion. This information/ warning is not provided to consumers and applicants before they proceed. It is a miss leading advertisement that does not provide proper warning before allowing you to proceed.
