My father passed away XX/XX/year>. He has XXXX account with Merrill Lynch by Bank of America. The Account has been awarded to me in XXXX XXXXXXXX MI probate court with a decree of Determination of Heirship in a formal probate hearing. I have submitted my court documents as well as the other documents asked of me and Merrill Legal team has denied my documents are accurate probate documents and have not released the fund to me. They have asked for Letters Testamentary or small estate affidavit which my dad 's probate does not qualify for based on asset amount and date of death. I tried to explained to the rep but they stated they have to wait for the legal team whom does not have a customer number or email available so me or my attorney can contact. I have been denied access to speak with any type of supervisor directly, they have responded that a supervisor will schedule to call me back in 24-48hrs ( which they haven't ) and the legal team will reassess my documents in 3-5 business days, AGAIN. Every time i call the life services department i receive the same response. There is no courtesy for this been sent back incorrectly and ignorance to MI probate law. Its stressful enough dealing with your parent passing and handling all their affairs, probate court, attorney fees, funeral expense, and arrangements and have to argue with a bank about their account that has already been grated by a court of law.
