Federal student loan was transferred from Aidvantage to XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. Both are reporting loan as open and full amount due. XXXX and Aidvantage confirm that XXXX is the correct servicer. However Aidvantage refuses to properly report to credit bureaus that the loan is transferred, closed with them and balance XXXX. When I called to ask them to correct their error, they said theyll send me a letter and I can dispute with credit bureaus myself. Poor business that they make this reporting error, more so that they refuse to correct their error and tell me to dispute it. Disputes take months awaiting reply and this negatively impacts my credit score while I wait ( larger debt owed than I actually owe ).
