My account was closed in XX/XX/XXXX because Chase was unable to verify a third parties phone number. The initial check was placed on hold after it was deposited via ATM and I was advised it wouldn't be released until XX/XX/XXXX, however that same morning once the deposit was made available Chase froze three of my accounts ( two checking 's and one savings ). I was advised by a rep that the check deposit needed to be verified by the third party and not the issuing financial institution. I provided the phone number and was told it was unverifiable, I then provided multiple numbers as well as called the third party so that they could be verified but the Agent kept telling me the same thing. I was told in so many words that the phone number needed to be in the person 's name otherwise they would not be able to call the number which makes it " unverifiable ''. I asked if they could call the bank to verify the third parties contact information ( Name, Address, Number, SSN etc. ) and was told the phone number was the only way. I asked if it was okay for us to go inside of the Branch with identification so that we could complete verification and was told the Branch employees would not be able to help. I was then quoted 10days to have the check verified or my account would be closed. My account was actually closed within 5 Days. I reached out after the account closing to see if the check could be released or sent back to the financial institution for it to be reissued and was advised that it was not possible to provide me with the original check and the other bank would not be able to request the funds back because it was already deposited. She also stated if it was not verified within a certain time frame the check will be mailed to the state. I was then told that my remaining account balances would be mailed to me minus the amount for the check which was for {$24000.00} even though it was already made available and reflected against my account balance. I never received the check for the primary account balance and one of the other accounts was charged off for {$4.00}. I received notification that chase would not be collecting on this balance since it was a charge for the account fee and I would have to go inside of a branch to reopen my accounts because I couldn't have the same account numbers. I went inside of a Branch on XX/XX/XXXX and tried reopening an account. The Branch employee called customer service and was told that it was okay for her to proceed with opening the account. When the employee submitted my information I was denied, she let me know that my bank score had dropped and it was most likely due to the charge off and the account closing. I have had more than {$200000.00} go through my personal and business accounts with Chase within the last year alone so this is very upsetting. Not only are all of my accounts closed I'm unable to reopen new accounts after I was told multiple times there wouldn't be any issues. The individual who's check it was is now out of {$24000.00} and they will not return it to either party involved.
