This issue pertains to my Secondary Home Improvement Loan - originated and serviced by Gateway Mortgage - a division of Gateway First Bank. Last year ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I submitted a complaint that Gateway Mortgage was incorrectly applying my additional XXXX XXXX payment. After filing a complaint with the CFPB and multiple back and forth exchanges with Gateway Mortgage, the problem was resolved. However, This year ( XX/XX/XXXX ), the same exact problem has resurfaced. Again, they are taking the extra amount I give them every month and incorrectly applying it to future interest payments. Instead, they should be applying it to pay down my principle. This is very deceptive and is an attempt to put more money in their own pockets. If you review the history of my Mortgage with Gateway, you'll see that this is not the first time this deception has occurred with Gateway.
