I have a Bank of America credit card. It had a balance, so I set up auto pay to pay a maximum of {$500.00} per month. I paid the balance in full. Bank of America continues to deduct {$500.00} from my checking account even though there is no balance. It required me to wait XXXX minutes with support and they will issue a refund that will take up to XXXX business days. This is an unfair practice. This should not be allowed or ok. In 2024, having a software platform and policies that deduct maximum balance payments from people 's accounts when there is no balance should be illegal.
