Summary : my physical address was changed by Bank of America without my permission and I requested an investigation to determine how this happened and prevent it from happening again. XX/XX/23 I received a notification from XXXXXXXX XXXX that my account holder information had changed for my Bank of America account. I called XXXX and they were not able to share additional details. I called Bank of America on XX/XX/23 and they said there was no change. I called Bank of America again on XX/XX/23 and they confirmed that my physical address was changed to an address that a family member owns and they said they submitted an investigation request. Nobody else has access to my bank account or login information, and I have 2-factor authentication set up so I would have received a notification if someone else attempted to log in. XX/XX/23 I followed up and the XXXX XXXX department submitted a service request to further investigate. XX/XX/23 I followed up and there was no update. XX/XX/23 I followed up and there was no update so they escalated and filed a complaint. XX/XX/23 I followed up again and they said someone should call me back within a week but nobody XXXX I followed up again and there was no update. XX/XX/23 I followed up again and there was no update. XXXX I followed up again and there was no update so I closed my account. It is unbelievable that there were no updates within this almost two-month timeframe for an issue of security where my physical information was changed, not by me, and there was nobody else who had access to my account.
