On XX/XX/2023 I was informed that my mortgage was being sold to Chase and that Chase would continue my automatic ( bi-weekly ) payments ; nothing was needed. Then I got an email saying it didn't go through for some reason. I resumed automatic payments. In XXXX I started receiving calls from Chase but no voice mail was left. In addition, Chase 's phone number is flagged as spam by my carrier for some reason. Chase called several times from a strange number and never left a voice mail indicating anything was wrong. I called them and they told me I was somehow behind on my payments and that I needed to make an extra payment because I am supposed to pay ahead of time when on a biweekly payment amount, even though nothing changed. Somehow I was able to come up with an extra grand and the waived the " late fee ''. Now in XXXX I am getting calls again from the same " scam likely '' call, no voice mail whatsoever. I reach out and they explain that somehow, I am behind on a payment because they didn't apply the payment right ; they applied the extra payment they told me to send them to the wrong bucket and somehow it's again my fault, requiring me to call and wait for them to fix their issue. At this point is is starting to sound like this is a pattern with Chase. This sounds like something XXXX XXXX would do to keep people in vicious cycle of never ending late fees. Despite them waiving this extra late fee I am seriously concerned why I need to reach out to the bank to help them correct the issue and why they call, refuse to leave ANY voice mail and make me track them down. Again, this seems like a pattern of deceptive business practices and I am hopeful CFPB can rein in this awful bank.
