Please see exact dates in the attached document. Late XX/XX/XXXX, we tried to transfer money out of our Direct Express account, but were denied multiple times, even though their website explicitly states that we are able to. They required verification documents consisting of a photocopy of my drivers license and my bank statement showing my account and routing numbers, which we also sent multiple times. With no other options, we called DirectExpress multiple times, and they said the same thing, to keep sending in the verification documents. Finally, we asked them to close our account, in which they told us to contact the Social Security Administration. We contacted the SSA, but SSA told us only Direct Express has the authority to close our account and give us our money. We relayed this information to Direct Express, in which they told us to keep contacting the SSA. Direct Express then sent us an email and letter claiming that if we do not respond to their communication in regards to this issue after XX/XX/XXXX, they will consider this matter solved. This is completely false ; we have responded to all their attempts at communication through text and email, but they were the ones who did not respond back to us. This is EXTREMELY shady. Please see attached document for exact dates and screenshots of our text and email conversations.
