I have banked with Chase for over 40 years. During that period I regularly deposited all my income from work and any sources into my Chase checking. At times, these were significant sums. I spent my entire career in the nonprofit arts sector where salaries were not great, but I was fortunate. In 2008, I had close to {$100000.00} in a Chase Investment Account. When the XXXX crash occurred that sum was reduced to {$38000.00} and I was required by Chase to close the account because my balance was below {$50000.00}. I had just left government employment and was searching for a job. Within days the arts sector in XXXX, my home, eliminated over XXXX jobs across all institutions, large and small. I was never able to accumulate savings again. Now I am XXXX and on a modest fixed income. For the past 8-9 months I have found it difficult to stay afloat and have been overdrawing my account to pay scheduled bills. Chase regularly charges me {$34.00} for each overage, even though many of these are for very small sums- for example, {$5.00}, {$7.00}. These overage charges both cause additional overages and make it harder and harder to ever catch up. I simply cant bear up under this strain anymore. It has become unbearable. Only greed can cause this - and the failure of the government to regular vulture capitalism. I need protection.
