I received a letter on XX/XX/XXXX confirming that my automatic payments had been cancelled for my mortgage with Primary Residential Mortgage. I did not ever request a cancellation, so my wife tried to rectify the situation online by turning on automatic payments, with no luck. I then received an email from a new mortgage company, XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX alerting me that they were now servicing my mortgage, starting XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX days later. I was unable to make a payment on my mortgage today when payment is due because I was not properly informed of the transfer in the proper timeline. I believe federal law dictates a minimum of XXXX days notice before the transfer of the mortgage.
