Consumer Narrative

I am attempting to obtain a mortgage. My credit is less than perfect due to medical collections on my credit report. I called Smith Rouchon & Associates ( SRA ) on Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX to pay a medical debt of {$740.00}. I was notified I had other collections with them, one of which was {$4.00}. One debt of {$900.00}, I was already aware of because it was on my credit report. While attempting to obtain a mortgage, the mortgage company used a credit advisor to direct me as to which debt to remove immediately to increase my score. So my plan was to pay the ones they advised me to pay immediately, and work out a settlement for the rest. When I paid the XXXX debt in full, I asked for an accounting of the debts so I can get started on them. This email was sent to me. I called and asked for a receipt that showed that the XXXX debt was paid with a XXXX balance and to receive the accounting separately so that this debt can be updated and removed from my credit. XXXX XXXX XXXX at SRA said she would get with a " carrier '' to send it. I've made this request 3 times and each time I keep receiving a receipt with remaining balances to the other debts. XXXX XXXX XXXX told me that the other reports will show up on my credit report even though this one is paid. This is a false statement because a debt of {$4.00} can not show up on credit reports and I have several copies of my own credit report. Even if this was true, paying off debts will still increase my credit score. I advised XXXX XXXX that these debts are to removed immediately and I do not have time to wait 30 days which is why I need a receipt. I waited overnight and received yet again, the same copy. Today, XXXX XXXX again, told me the debts will show up on my credit report and she wil " try to separate them '' to get a XXXX balance. She stated the company I'm working with is trying to keep the other debts from showing up on my credit report by asking for this type of receipt. I took offense to that because this is not attempt to cover up anything, but to remove now PAID debts from my credit report. I told her I was working with a lender to remove the debts to increase my score as I stated before and reminded her I asked for the itemization so I could pay them. I haven't even received notification that the debts were even with SRA to begin with. XXXX XXXX said the debts are " tied to my social '' so it's difficult to send a separate receipt. I told her the lenders are different, and this has held me up because each time I ask for a receipt I have to wait a whole day for a piece of paper. XXXX XXXX and SRA has made it easy to pay debts, but difficult for clients to receive relief by paying them. It shouldn't be this difficult to get a medical debt removed from my credit after it has been paid.
