Consumer Narrative
This complaint is against accurate collection service which is fully owned by XXXX XXXX XXXX as I was told by their billing department. I went to the emergency room in XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX during XXXX. And then was told that I was admitted to the hospital for XXXX ( obviously XXXX is the way to remove the source of the pain. Without XXXX, the most that can be done is pain relief medicine which I can take at home ) and to vacate theemergency room since there is not enough emergency room. It turns out that no XXXX was given to me in XXXX no matter how strongly I requested because there is not enough physician. And they changed the status to hospital observation ( in order to get paid ) without noticing me of that. If it was not for XXXX, I would stop them transferring me to the hospital even if forced to move, and would go home. Staying in the hospital room resulted in physical, financial and emotional harm for me. The so called observation is their language for waiting for XXXX since I was deprived of sleep, freedom and was bothered by people who talked to me and I had to pay them separately. Had I not requested to leave the hospital later realizing the intention was not XXXX, they would have left me in the hospital room for the rest of XXXX. I was told I could not leave the hospital without the release paper. It took a long time for the release paper to be provided to me. In a way this is kidnapping. It is not appropriate to keep patients in hospital to bring revenue for the hospital, while hospital stay is a XXXX to the patient. As a big surprise, the charge for the hospital observation was over {$10000.00}. This is clearly an abuse of the system. The hospital observation is just their way of making additional enormous money and is absolutely not necessary since there was no XXXX. This constitutes fraud to deceive patients to get payments. this is very aggressive billing and collections practices. This hospital is non-profit, which should make sure they deserve the tax exemption. More than Enough profit has been made on my case during XXXX and XXXX consumers need to be protected from unfair and deceptive business practices by hospitals and debt collectors. I therefore ask that the bill be fully waived, which is not even enough to compensate for the physical and emotional harm that XXXX XXXX XXXX put on me. upon calling their billing department, I feel threatened that after the collection stage, they would send the bill to XXXX XXXX XXXX who would sue for this bill, which is prohibited by federal law. I request no contact in any means from XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. I would also like to speak to the president and CEO of XXXX XXXX XXXX. If they do not let me talk to the president and CEO, then this debt is considered waived.
