Yesterday, I received an email from Chase Credit Journey ( XXXXchase.com ) as we have a mortgage with Chase and the email indicated that there was a lender that recently checked my credit report. When I logged into our Chase mortgage account to see the details associated with the credit inquiry, it was clear that the inquiry was done in response to someone who was fraudulently filing a credit card application with JP Morgan Chase to open a bank card using my information. I immediately contacted the JP Morgan Chase card department to report the application as fraudulent. JP Morgan Chase denied the application as they believed the application to be fraudulent. I am in the process of submitting a FACT Act Request from JP Morgan Chase to dispute the fraudulent credit inquiry from my credit report. I have placed fraud alerts and disputes with the three main credit bureaus : XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX.
