Consumer Narrative

Bank of America has opened fraudulent checking accounts in my name at least XXXX times over the past 14 months, despite my placing a security freeze through XXXX and freezing my credit through the three major credit reporting agencies. I have contacted BOA every time they open an account in my name and although it gets closed, the same thing happens all over again within a few months or even days. XX/XX/XXXX Received email that Bank of America opened a checking account in my name without my knowledge. Called consumer hotline to have account closed. XX/XX/XXXX Received email that Bank of America opened another checking account ( # XXXX ) in my name without my knowledge. Called consumer hotline to have account closed. XX/XX/XXXX Received letter from Bank of America in response to my reporting fraud requiring me to fax them the following information to prove that I did NOT open the # XXXX checking account : copy of my drivers license, copy of my Social Security card, copy of police reports, copies of documents received for the account in question, etc. I faxed them seven pages of documentation from XXXX of their branches to prove that I DIDNT open the account. Its clear that nothing near this level of documentation was required for anyone actually opened an account in my name. XX/XX/XXXX Received email that Bank of America opened another checking account ( # XXXX ) in my name without my knowledge. Called consumer hotline to have account closed. XX/XX/XXXX Received confirmation from XXXX that per my request a security freeze was placed on my consumer file. I had also reported this to the XXXX major credit bureaus. XX/XX/XXXX Received letter from Bank of America notifying me that the # XXXX account was being closed because they could not verify my identity. XX/XX/XXXX Received email that Bank of America opened another checking account ( # XXXX ) in my name without my knowledge. Called consumer hotline to have account closed. XX/XX/XXXX Received email that Bank of America opened another checking account ( # XXXX ) in my name without my knowledge. Called consumer hotline to have account closed. XX/XX/XXXX Received email that Bank of America opened another checking account in my name without my knowledge. Called consumer hotline to have account closed. XX/XX/XXXX Received email that Bank of America opened another checking account in my name without my knowledge. Called consumer hotline to have account closed.
