I have had a Chase Freedom credit card for a long time. Chase recently sent emails notifying Freedom cardholders that they would be upgraded automatically to Chase Freedom Unlimited. They proceeded to run a hard credit check for the automatic upgrade, which I believe might be illegal. My credit is frozen, so they sent me a letter through online account that the application was denied. I've spoken with Chase Card Services already. I don't want to lose my current credit card, but I am not willing to have a hard credit pull for this Product Change.
