Consumer Narrative

I was given a XXXX chance offer thru XXXX on an item that I had bid on. Money ( {$36000.00} ) was sent via wire to an account at Bank of America. the next morning after the wire was sent XXXX had notified me that the account may had been accessed by a XXXX party and not the " owner '' of the account. As soon as the bank opened on the XX/XX/23 I went in to notify the manager that it was possible fraud and they notified their fraud department who then would reach out to BOA. BOA responded on the XXXX that their customer denied that the transaction was fraudulent. I had filed a complaint.BOA did not even freeze the account at all to try and see if there was possibility of fraud. I did file a report with the FBI ( no response ) then on I filed a report with the local authorities who requested a subpoena of the account from BOA.Which BOA did not even provide all information that the Detective requested. According to the Detective the account to which the account was sent was sent to a XXXX branch of BOA but the company listed on the invoice I was sent was actually in XXXX. The account was opened the month before with {$100.00} and then another small deposit was made. Then about a week before my wire was initiated another large deposit was made and withdrawn in a day in about XXXX different transactions. Then My money went into the account. The detective had told me that my money was still sitting in the account even after my bank notified BOA of a potential fraud/scam.The account at BOA has since been closed. BOA did abosulelty nothing in any manner shape or form to even verify the potential of a scam by either me or their customer on me. I have the police report and all information pertaining to this matter. It is my honest opinion that BOA should be held liable for being negligent in preventing frauds/scams for as they did nothing even after the account activity before me should have thrown a red flag of what was potentially happening.
