The week of XX/XX/XXXX, we visited the Bank Of America in XXXX XXXX, MD as when I had looked online it was indicating my account was closed. The manager told me she didn't know why the account was closed but we could call XXXX to find out more details. When I called, I was informed that a letter had been mailed to me, which I never received and that a check for the proceeds in my account will be forthcoming. I have yet to receive the check, I have called BOA numerous times, to no avail. Today when I called they indicated I would have to wait 121 days from the date the check was mailed to have the check reissued. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX, that lives paycheck to paycheck, I can not wait over 4 months to get my funds from Bank of America and find this unreasonable. how do these large financial institutions get away with holding my hard earned money for such a long period of time, this is just unethical and their policy should be changed to better protect consumers. The day the account was closed was XX/XX/XXXX, the check was mailed XX/XX/XXXX, and it was for {$1800.00}, I can no longer access my account, nor statements online and quite simply don't understand how this type of unfair service can happen and leave me without a banking relationship, nor cash to facilitate bill payments.
