I got a Rocket Mortgage loan ( Loan number XXXX ). During the application process, the representative promised discounts and rebates totaling about {$8000.00}. The discounts were not on the loan documents but the representative stated the discounts do not show up since the rebate check will be sent separately. Therefore, I signed the estimates. Few days before closing date, Rocket Mortgage representatives state the discounts can not be honored. It was too late for me to walk away so in order to keep the house and the interest rate which I had locked in, I kept the closing and had to close and lose {$8000.00} in discounts. This was a clear case of breach of contract and bait and switch fraud. Rocket Mortgage offered me a check of around {$2400.00} to make up for it. I took it but filed a lawsuit for the remaining portion. They offered another {$2400.00} to settle the case, but I did not take it because it is not the full amount. I filed a lawsuit and lost due to lack of evidence. I appealed and all the text messages, emails which showed multiple rocket mortgage representatives promising the discounts helped me to win the case. The judge agreed that there was fraud here and granted me the remaining promised amounts. While this is a victory for me, my goal is to start an investigation into other customers accounts to see if other people also had to agree to paying higher fees or lost out on discounts few days before the signing of closing forms due to Rocket Mortgage 's breach of contract/bait and switch tactic.
