On XX/XX/2022 I wrote a check for my mortgage in the amount of {$2000.00} to first merchants bank. On XX/XX/2022 the check was deposited and cashed into an account at XXXX. The check was clearly written to our mortgage company. We contacted our bank which is Old national bank and we told to make a police report to report fraud. We did. Old national then said that they would reach out to XXXX with phone calls and letters which they did with no response from XXXX. Old national bank now says that they can not do anything until the other bank contacts them. Old national bank will not help us do to not having a bank manager at the bank the check originated from. They are FDIC insured for this reason and we still can not get any help. They have told us to file a complaint with you.
