Our loan was approved on forbearance. We have documentation stating this forbearance does not expire until XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX Rocket Mtg had us do a check in which then asked if we would like to defer payment. I filled the online form out and submitted. Next thing you know, our mortgage is deemed all caught up and they want a payment XX/XX/XXXX. In the meantime, we had multiple communications with Rocket Mtg that we applied to WV Homeowner Rescue and were conditionally approved. My question and complaint is if we were approved on forbearance until XX/XX/XXXX, then why put this form for deferral online to be filled out. I feel this was tricky due to thinking about putting off payments and deeming deferral and forbearance together. Right now we are waiting until the end of XX/XX/XXXX and requesting a verification of amount due from Rocket Mtg so Homeowner Rescue can pay. Rocket Mtg. States they can not reverse the deferral and we need to wait and not pay the XX/XX/XXXX payment so the money gets pulled out of deferral. We definitely do not want to go into foreclosure as we have everything in line to pay the past due amount through XX/XX/XXXX. We believe Rocket Mtg had no business even asking us about deferral since we were still on forbearance program. Please advise.
