Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/2023 I spoke with XXXX at XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX Bank of America in XXXX, IL. I was inquiring about depositing checks for my minor son 's who are ( XXXX. and XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and don't have Bank of America accounts, but I do. I asked if I could deposit them in my account and he said no. I told him in years past I deposited my minor son 's checks in my checking account but he said we can not do that anymore I would have to open accounts for my sons. I asked if I could speak with the branch manager and he replied he was the branch manager. I told him I wasn't comfortable giving out my minor sons SSN and other info. because of identify theft and he actually laughed/ chuckled a bit. Anyhow, he refused to deposit my sons checks and was rude and unprofessional. I actually work in the financial regulatory industry and ask this be investigated. I don't know if BOA has some sort of employee incentive compensation program based on account openings but for the life of me I can not understand why he refused to deposit my checks ( which btw : I deposited at another branch with no problems ). I asked that you please remedy this situation so bank customers aren't lied to and forced to open accounts when they are not legally required to.
