I have a CD with Synchrony Bank. Today I called to cancel it. When I asked about the penalty, I was told it is 6 months. I asked where was that in the details of the loan since it does not show anywhere in the loan online or during the application process. I learned it is hidden deep in their website. It is clear they do not want consumers to see the details. You have to go to another site and download a PDF and go through the whole document to try to find it. Are there regulations around this? Can they make it so difficult to see the terms? It seems unfair. I talked to an agent. Was told I can file a complain. I was put on hold for 10 minutes and never heard back from anyone.
