Consumer Narrative

On XX/XX/2022, I deposited a check written on my account in the amount of {$20000.00} into the account of another Bank of America customer 's account. Subsequent to that, on or before XX/XX/2022 I placed a " Stop Payment '' for that check which was acknowledged in writing in a letter from Bank of America on XX/XX/2022. The recipient of the check acknowledged the check being deposited and then withdrawn by Bank of America. The complaint is that Bank of America took the funds from the other customer 's account and failed to return them to my account. They, Bank of America, subsequently closed my account from which the check was written and showed as withdrawn from that account on the statement. In my view, the only equitable solution will be for Bank of America to send me a good check in the amount of {$20000.00} for my use. Bank of America hinted in various conversations that fraud was being perpetrated by someone. They did not accuse me. If the recipient of the check was involved in any fraud, I was not aware of it If anyone is being defrauded, it is I, the victim. The victim should not be punished and the bank should not be rewarded by being allowed to keep funds that should be returned to the rightful owner. I have made Bank of America aware numerous times of my complaint and they would say that the matter was investigated and that I was not going to be entitled to the funds that THEY have. This is what I call the opposite of the fiduciary they should be. If they are found to have violated their responsibilities, I hope you can find a way to make them do the right thing.
