On XX/XX/2022 I received the following emails from Bank of America : XXXX Verify your email address XXXX Online application in process XXXX Your application was approved XXXX Welcome to Online and Mobile banking XXXX Your email address was updated I noticed these emails at approximately XXXX ( an hour after they had been sent ). I do have an account with Bank of America, but did not attempt to open a new account. I immediately called Bank of America and they did see a new account was opened using my social security number. They froze the account and will be closing it. I believe I was only notified about this because I have an account there already, so someone pretending to be me would automatically have their confirmation emails sent directly to me instead of a new address.
