We had a chase sapphire card that we used for years. It was my wife and mine primary card. We would pay off the balance monthly and ensure there were no late payments. Out of nowhere in XXXX we were informed our account would be closing. When I called Chase they said they couldnt tell me why. They then closed my account at the time they said and hit me with a settlement on my credit report for the outstanding balance of the card where the payment wasnt due. It affected my score and I received notices from the credit agencies about the settlement. I want to know how they are allowed to do this and contest the settlement on my credit score. I appreciate any help you may provide.
