Consumer Narrative

This is a letter that was sent to an attorney describing what happened : Hello, I found out today when I went to open a new checking account with XXXX XXXX bank and was denied, that XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX has filed a claim of suspected fraud against me with ChexSystems and possibly XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have filed a dispute with ChexSystems and called XXXX XXXX XXXX to see if there is a claim against me with them, but It will take 5 days to hear back from them. Last month, I opened a new checking and savings account with XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. They made 2 small deposits into my XXXX XXXX XXXX checking account to verify. The deposits were then removed. After this, I did an ACH transfer for {$4000.00} from my XXXX account to my XXXX account. While this transfer should have taken up to 3 business days to complete, it ended up taking much longer and both XXXXXXXX XXXX and I were becoming concerned. I was in constant contact with both banks. After many hours of speaking to reps from XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, I was getting nowhere. Finally, I spoke to a XXXX XXXX and ended up in an argument with her over this. They were not helpful whatsoever. Ultimately, I spoke to a manager at XXXXXXXX XXXX who advised that they would be able to have their ACH department go in and retrieve the ACH deposit back from XXXX and not to worry because there is a paper trail for all ACH transfers. Turns out that the day the ACH finally was processed and appeared at XXXX, the manager at XXXX ( unknowingly ) went in and had the funds retrieved. I believe this is where the problem lies, but I am uncertain. I have not had any luck with XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. Immediately after this, they closed both of my accounts. They told me they will not reverse the claim, will not provide any further information and to contact ChexSystems, who will negotiate with them. To be clear I did not commit fraud, nor did I try to and I need this removed from my record. I can lose my job over this. Its extremely difficult to get anywhere talking to these banks and agencies. I have records of the transfer and deposit. I also have my statement from XXXX showing the withdrawal and then the credit back into the XXXX account from XXXX. I was going to go to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX this morning to speak with a branch manager to see if they have any leverage in speaking to XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX because trying to call XXXX ( which is now XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) is futile. They arent even accepting calls at this point in time because of the recent acquisition of XXXX Bank XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I honestly do not know what else to do. Can you help?
