Consumer Narrative
I called Bank of America immediately upon finding fraud purchases on my account, on XX/XX/2022. The fraudulent claim number is XXXX. I was given provisional credit on XX/XX/XXXX, that included credits for fees related to the claim in the amount of {$2700.00}. I received a letter dated XX/XX/2022, which is 64 days after the provisional credit was applied, notifying me that the {$1200.00} of the provisional credit and any related fees that were credited are going to be removed on XX/XX/XXXX. When I called to inquire about why, I was told it was because I didn't report the fraudulent claim in a timely manner. Doesn't a bank have 45 days to investigate a fraudulent claim and respond? Not over 60 days? Obviously, this is a large sum of money that I was not expecting to be taken from my bank account. I've written a letter to Bank of America Fraud department and also to the CEO of Bank of America.
