Consumer Narrative
I received a notice that someone attempted to open an account in my name at Bank of America. I called the bank at XXXX and spoke to an agent who told me the Application ID number was XXXX and it was submitted on XX/XX/2022. However she would not tell me the email address that was used by the criminal who was trying to open the account in my name. I think that Bank of America should do more to protect me from this type of fraud and should help pursue the criminal who has tried to steal from me in this way.
