GM Financial has right on their website that all leases will be AUTOMATICALLY extended month to month for up to six months in one month increments, and nothing more needs to be done. We needed to extend our lease and saw that and nothing else needed to be done. GM also had our wrong email ( missing XXXX in it ), used the corporate office number to contact us about a late payment ( must have been off the credit application because we never provided it, as it is not a number my husband can be reached at, and an old address so we never received ANY notice of the late payment and assumed it was all fine since their website reads that it will automatically extend month to month. The day we realized we had a late payment ( first EVER ) we paid the double payment. We contacted GM- they told us to contact credit companies. I filed disputes with all three credit companies-all were denied. I contacted the credit companies and was told to contact GM. I contacted GM again and got nothing in response at all. Our credit score is ruined and it was not at all our fault that the website ( STILL READS TODAY ) that it will automatically extend-it doesn't state that it shuts off autopay, or that the payment changes in NY.
