Consumer Narrative

XXXX I received an email from chase at my personal email address that Chase Mortgage was about to withdraw a mortgage payment from my checking account. I do not have a mortgage with Chase Mortgage and have never had a mortgage with Chase Mortgage. First, I called to verify that the email was from Chase and not Spam or Phishing. It was confirmed that the email address was from Chase. I asked if the mortgage information can be looked up by the email address and reviewed by Chase customer service - without giving me any information about the loan to confirm that my personal email is associated with an account that does not belong to me. I was told because I personally can not confirm the loan information- they are unable to confirm any information. So, I explained based on Chases way of protecting a persons information, if the loan has been with Chase and it would be reasonable to believe - the person with a home loan with Chase would not add another random persons email to their personal loan to receive notifications - then the only way a random email address could have been added is an internal error on the part of Chase. So, Im my case- I called Chase customer service and asked - how can I eliminate my email address from Chases notification system- so that I am not receiving any notifications from someone else personal loan. Again, I was told my personal email address could not be removed because I can not personally provide the security information on the loan that has my personal email address. So we ended our conversation with the customer service agent only apologizing nothing can be done. So this seem unfair to both the party that has a loan with Chase and me because Chase made an error. For your information, the email address Chase is emailing to in error is unique only to me - because its my name. This is the from email address information : Chase XXXX XXXX
