Portfolio Recovery ( PRA ) stated that they hold all required license to do business. Upon my own research I found PRA does not have a collection agency license in NV. I have asked Portfolio Recovery several times to show their license as their right to conduct debt collection activity in NV and they have not. They just keep saying they " hold all required licenses ''. This is a blatant lie and misrepresentation of facts in an attempt to collect a debt which is a violation of the FDCPA. Also pursuant to XXXX XXXX a debt collection license is required to operate and conduct the business of a collection agency. Portfolio Recovery is in noncompliance with FDCPA and NV state law. Covered persons are prohibited from engaging in any unfair, deceptive, or abusive act or practice '' in violation of the CFPA. 12 U.S.C. 5531 and 5536 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( B ).
