Consumer Narrative
Purchased home in XX/XX/XXXX and never was late or missed a payment. Made every payment on time, and per my credit report, 99 % of my payments were on time. The mortgage payment was on autopsy coming from a XXXX account which was my account, but I added my ex 's name on the account when we were living together. He walked out on our family after eight years of living together on XX/XX/XXXX. Despite losing his income, every payment was made. XXXX bank refused to remove him from the account unless we both went together and signed, which he refused to do. Therefore, I decided to simply stop having my paycheck direct deposited to XXXX and opened up XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX checking accounts ( because my company 's stock plan functions through those companies ). I updated my financial institution with Rocket. on XX/XX/XXXX, listed on my Rocket Mortgage account transactions, is an attempt to withdrawal my mortgage funds and then a subsequent returned payment and finance charge for the returned payment. There was no attempt to withdraw a payment on my XXXX or XXXX XXXX account XXXX nor on XXXX. I immediately began receiving calls from Rocket 's automated service to make a payment. Per my transaction history with rocket, no payment was made in XXXX. Since XXXX, Rocket has attempted to withdraw payments as large as XXXX from various accounts and charged me returned payment fees for every returned payment. Looking at my XXXX XXXX account, I see two payments made in XXXX to Rocket, each for XXXX. Simultaneously, I have been working with ROCKET to find realtors to sell my current house and purchase a new home due to a change in the territory I cover at work. I was assigned a realtor from XXXX XXXX and two separate mortgage specialists to begin preapproval for my new home. In XXXX, I began receiving letters, nearly daily, from Rocket advising me that my mortgage was going to go into default. I called Rocket multiple times, speaking to numerous different advisors, who told me my account was current and that my next Mortgage payment would be automatically withdrawn on XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX withdrew XXXX from my XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX withdrew XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, returned payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, returned payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, returned payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, payment - XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX returned payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX returned payment of XXXX XX/XX/XXXX returned payment XXXX XXXX XXXX payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX returned payment -- -- XX/XX/XXXX payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX payment XX/XX/XXXX payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX returned payment XXXX XX/XX/XXXX returned payment of XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX I have spoken to four agents at Rocket, and no explanation has been provided regarding these charges. The last loan agent I spoke with stated that he could see my payments went through, and I was current. He didn't understand why I continued to get noticed that I owed XXXX. I was referred to a mortgage specialist to attempt to get preapproval for a new mortgage and was informed my credit score is too low to get a mortgage. THE ONLY current issue on my credit report is that ROCKET is reporting that I am 30-60 days late on my payment, which is untrue. When looking at XXXX XXXX account, NONE of the listed attempts for large sums of money appear on the account, nor do they appear on the XXXX account. No matter what I do, there seems to be some disconnect between who I am speaking with and the mail that comes because daily, I receive notices that I owe Rocket mortgage money. All I did was switch checking accounts. I have now had 7 retail credit accounts mail letters that they were closing my accounts, including all XXXX ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ), XXXX and XXXX ( closed on credit card and lowered the limit on the other ) I have been refused a new mortgage, which is devastating because I need to move for work. I don't know what to do or who I need to speak with, but this can't go on. Lastly, the amounts of money they are trying to withdraw have been IN THE ACCOUNT if they tried to do so appropriately. I have no idea why they are reporting me to the credit bureau, but they are and they need to STOP immediately and correct the damage they have created.
