I financed a XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX and last week while driving the car just completely shut off while driving on the highway in the middle of the night with no warnings. I get the car towed to a dealership the following day only to be informed that the motor had went out and that this was a known issue for this make a model vehicle. I contacted XXXX and Santander only to be told there's nothing any of them can do for me and that I'd have to pay over XXXX XXXX to get the motor replace. There's no way in XXXX that consumers should be punished for defective vehicles with well known issues or for any issues for that matter for defects that are beyond our control. I refuse to pay for something I didn't do and I'm exploring all of my options allowed under the law to put a stop to this. I will not be punished and forced to come up with money I don't have to fix something I didn't cause. This is ridiculous. I will be going to the FTC and Attorney Genral and whoever else I need to go to to get this matter resolved.
