On XX/XX/2022, I went to JP Morgan Chase ( Branch # XXXX ) XXXX XXXX XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, ME, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, GA XXXX, to deposit a check in the amount of {$92000.00}. I specifically told the young lady greeting me that I wanted to open a savings account. She introduced me to Chase Private Client representative, XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX looked at my Chase accounts and informed that I already had a savings account, so I requested XXXX XXXX to deposit the funds into that savings account. When I left the bank I noticed that the check had been deposited into my checking account ending in XXXX. I immediately contacted XXXX XXXX about the error and requested he correct it ASAP. He informed me at that point it was too late. I informed XXXX XXXX I requested the funds to be deposited into savings for tax purposes. He inquired if the check was " income ''. Although this was no business of his, I told him it was not income. However, why should I need to explain where my funds come from? What makes a Chase representative think they can determine whether a customers funds should be deposited into a banking or checking account? This is another perfect example of the hazards of 'Banking While XXXX '. There appears to be a double standard when working with XXXX American consumers. This must be stopped immediately.
