On XX/XX/XXXX my 0 % balance transfer promotion ends. According to Credit Card Act XXXX Section 164 B.2 Two months prior to promotion expiring, excess payment over minimum is applied to balance on which interest is deferred. XX/XX/XXXX I made an autopay of XXXX ( minimum ) XX/XX/XXXX I made an additional payment of XXXX intended to be applied to the promo balance 0 % that expires XX/XX/XXXX. It was not applied to that balance. XX/XX/XXXX I contact Citi customer service and ask for that payment to be allocated to expiring promotion in accordance with this section of regulation. I was told we understand but our system has no way of adjusting that. Im wondering how many people are being left with an unexpected interest charge due to this noncompliance.
